1. For whatever deposit amount, clients are required to provide us with the deposit/ transfer advice to prove that such deposit comes from client’s own bank account. (1. The depositor ’s name and bank account number; or 2. The depositor's number of the bank account registered with Haitong International must be clearly shown on the advice). We will not credit the fund to client’s Haitong International account(s) until we have received the proof documents from the depositor.

2. For a deposit to Haitong International by cheque, clients are required to provide us with the image of the cheque (on which the name of the client must be clearly shown), together with the deposit advice for our verification of the information of the depositor. If the client is not able to provide us with the image of the cheque, a handling fee of HKD 50 per cheque (the actual amount is subject to the bank) will be charged by us for our arrangement with the bank for the client. In addition, such fund will not be credited to the client’s account(s) until we have obtained the information of depositor from bank. Generally speaking, this process will take 14 business days (the actual time is subject to the bank).

3. If the deposit is identified as a third party deposit, for whatever amount, clients are required to provide us with documents to prove the relationship between the depositor and such third party with reasons given. If the documents provided are not accepted by us, Haitong International reserves the right to return the fund and the depositor shall bear all the bank charges and related risks including but not limited to those derived from any forced liquidation actions taken by us for failure of timely deposit to maintain the margin requirement. In such case, Haitong International will not bear any responsibility and all costs, bank interests or losses or claims incurred to the client and the third party due to the returning of fund.

To ensure timely accessibility of funds in your account and avoid force-liquidation, payment to an Haitong International account via payment system, ebanking, bank counter, ATM, cheque deposit machine or otherwise shall be made with your 11-digit account number (e.g. 02-XXXXXXX-XX) or your name provided in the remark column. If you have not given your 11-digit number or name as aforesaid, you are required to fax a copy of deposit transfer to (852) 2525 2847 for securities and stock options / (852) 2525 2847 for futures. Should you fail to provide deposit / transfer advice slip to Haitong International in a proper and timely manner as mentioned above, your accessibility of funds may be impaired or your account may be subject to forced-liquidation, and the consequences or losses arising therefrom shall be solely borne by you.
