Account opening

All non-US citizens/residents and non-Canadian residents require a valid Haitong International Securities Account and must submit a completed W-8BEN form for online US stock trading.

Services will be enabled after your W-8BEN has been received. You can login to "Securities Trading" -> and click "US" on the top left hand corner to access the online US stocks trading services.

If you would like to know more about the instructions for Form W-8BEN, please consult your tax adviser.

Shared Margin Financing Ratio – Hong Kong Stock/A Share & US Stocks

To enhance your buying power and flexibility, we provide margin financing ratio up to 70% for US Stocks. Margin limit of Hong Kong stocks/ A Share and US stocks can be shared.

Preferential Margin Financing Interest Rate

The margin financing interest rate for US stock is 6.8%.

We provide online US stock trading from NYSE, NASDAQ, NYSEMKT and BATS.

American Depositary Receipts（ADRs）

American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) is a certificate that represents shares of non-U.S. companies that are issued by a U.S. depositary bank. ADRs are quoted in USD and traded in the U.S. market. Each ADR represents certain shares of the underlying shares based on an exchange ratio.

Trading Hours

The trading hours of NYSE, NASDAQ, NYSEMKT and BATS are HKT 9:30pm – 4:00am (Summer, March to November) and HKT 10:30pm – 5:00am (Winter, November to March). There is no break in between.

Trading / Settlement details and limitation

The settlement date is T+1 (US trading day). The sales proceed of the sale transactions can be used for further stock purchase until settled.
